Stephanie Fights Breast Cancer with Fashion

When Stephanie Bowens found out she had breast cancer in 2021, she chose to be proactive and positive.

Instead of letting chemo get her down, she decided to dress up in fabulous costumes and outfits for her treatments. As she used the hospital halls as her own personal runway, she lifted the spirits of everyone giving and receiving care. Her positive mentality and the support of her family and friends brought her through all her chemo treatments until she was able to ring the bell!

“All that walking down the halls like a fashion model was FUN! This going to be my own runway, my runway beating cancer”

- Stephanie

Now she wants to share her story to uplift others as they face hard times.

To celebrate her birthday and new body after a double mastectomy, Stephanie called Dominique Calvillo of Namaste and Crochet to make her a custom hot pink dress. She is absolutely stunning in her dress and her beauty shines from the inside out.

She flew out to LA to meet with the designer and have a photo shoot with photographer Emily Birkland. Dominique sat down with Stephanie before the photo shoot to talk about what this dress meant to her and the result is this stunning recounting of her experience conquering cancer.

Stephanie’s story is an inspiration and an example of how a positive outlook can make all the difference when facing difficult times.
