My sister is engaged! This is the fun story about my baby sister’s engagement, the custom dress I made for the occasion and a little trickery that made the moment so magical.
I wanted to celebrate and honor my womanhood and what my body was doing. The female body is so powerful and connected to the divine that even without my conscious mind involved, I was creating the most beautiful thing I could ever imagine- my daughter.
I made Esperanza two special blankets: The Honey Bee Blanket, which felt just right for her enchanted forest nursery, and The Blooming Rose Afghan, which is a new design and a tribute to her middle name, Rose.
Turns out becoming a mom comes with a fashion identity crisis. Naturally, I did what any self-respecting yarn girlie would do—I went to the yarn store to find yarn...or myself. Hopefully both.
